On Saturday in London an event took place called the Great London Swim 2013 which is a mile long swim in the River Thames for charity. Anyone could take part, including my mum! She decided to as she had done so last year and she picked JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) as her charity because I have type 1 diabetes. It took my mum 55 minutes to do it this time and last year she did it in 1 hour and 10 minutes! Well done :)
All the successful swimmers after the swim!
My mum and our friend Jane, who also swam, before they set off.
The Thames doesn't look that dirty, does it? :p
Of course my brother had to take his trusty lobster to the swim!
I had to see what I looked like in my good friend Tallulah's (who came to the swim) awesome leather jacket with a white faux fur collar - £60.00 from Topshop.
Definitely a great day for a swim!
All the swimmers getting ready to start their mile long swim.
Its not that easy to see, but in the background the swimmers are doing their exercises to warm up before they get in.
A clearer photo of the swimmers warming up.
At last the swimmers are getting into the water!
There were people in canoes looking after the people in the water.
My Mum.
While we were walking alongside my Mum, as she was swimming, we passed these lovely flats along the river side, with their own docks for private boats.
I would love to live in a place like this...
Here are more pictures of the flats.
A close up of the great view of Canary Wharf.
The beautiful boats.
Mum stepping out at the finish line!
Me and Tallulah at the mini beach.
My brother Sonny.
A celebratory hug for the amazing swimmer!
After the swim we had a well earned party at our house, with lots of friends and family :)
The bean bag turned out to be very entertaining for the kids.
We have a cool room in the garden and at parties, especially on warm days, it's nice to open it up.
We even used our karaoke machine!
The party was a huge success and I am very happy and pleased that my mum chose JDRF as her charity and proud that she managed to do it in such a good time! If you would like to visit the Justgiving page, here is the link: www.justgiving.com/rose-wilkes-swim.

Finally, my good friend Tallulah, mentioned in previous posts including this one, has recently made a blog all about movies. She does movie reviews and in the future she is going to make her own as she wants to be a director when she is older.
Her blog name is Drama Queens Office and the link is: http://dramaqueensoffice.blogspot.co.uk/. If you get the chance it would be great if you have a quick look at it!
