Boo to a Goose (And Awesome Music!)

I think I have finally discovered a love for vintage I never knew I had! Last Saturday I joined Fashion Detective (http://www.fashiondetective.co.uk/) at the amazing Lady Boo's house for a vintage spree. Lady Boo, as she likes to be known, runs the fab company Boo to a Goose. Boo sells vintage clothing, accessories and crockery and runs private sessions as a stylist to help you choose what to wear. Fashion Detective first met her while at the Crystal Palace Festival as Boo had a stall there and she said she was having an open day at her house to look around. Fashion Detective kindly brought me and my mum along and it was AWESOME! If you would like to check out Boo to a Goose, here is her Facebook page:https://www.facebook.com/pages/Boo-to-a-Goose/121276111230693?fref=ts.  Sadly I couldn't buy anything as the dresses I loved were too small :( but we were allowed to take pics of ourselves with the awesome vintageness on! (By the way, don't you love Boo's very own cushion!)

As well as letting us try on clothes in her house, Boo even made delicious cakes! They look even better  on the vintage table.

A rail of vintage goodness =D

Even more!

It's not just the clothes that are vintage, Lady Boo's house is kitted out in the best vintage way. I especially like this  sign she found at a car boot sale. (If you live in or know the area, Crystal Palace in London, the effect of the toy dinosaurs on the sign is really cool & topical ;))

I took advantage of being able to try on clothes and couldn't resist this metallic pink wonder. I think it goes well with the clash effect of my pink Doctor Martens, more on them later, but it was too small.

My favourite, this gorgeous sky blue dress, also too small. Grr, don't you hate when that happens?

Vintage accessories.

Not only is Lady Boo's house chock a block with vintage awesomeness, she has a great view of London...

My fizzy water served in a teacup.

Vintage cocktail glasses.

But the great day didn't end there. After finding out how much I really like vintage, we spent the evening in a pub in Clapham for my dad's gig, The Lola Jones, who I did a post on before. It was a amazeboz night and not only did I find out I like vintage, I also found out that I like to dance to good music in pubs!

Random llama outside as there was a petting zoo!

Hanging out with the kids.

It isn't that easy to see but my dad's top says, No More Page Three, referring  to The Sun newspaper. An example of how fashion can be good for society!

My outfit:
Top- Primark, £3.00
Skater skirt- New Look, £14.99 £7.00
Jacket- Topshop, £45.00
Shoes- Doctor Martens@ Selfridges
Necklace- Tatty Devine, £42.00

You are probably wondering why I haven't mentioned my DM's before, but here they are! Awesome, right?

Just checking the internet on my trusty kindle!

I wasn't the only one dancing, and the ladies were definitely rocking out the dance floor :)

Frankie, the next pop star!

London at night...

Lots Of Catching Up!

It feels like such a long time since I posted! I went to Blackpool and the day before when I was going to post I had to go to A+E :(. At last I can now catch up with you guys everything I have done in the last two weeks! Firstly, on a Saturday with my family and friends, including my good friend Amy from the perks of being Amy: http://theperksofbeingamy.blogspot.co.uk/ and my other good friend, Tallulah, we all went to The Leather Bottle pub in Earlsfield, London, to watch my dads band playing in the awesome pub garden. There were also some other bands playing, and this event was called Earlsfest. This event is held every summer. For some info on the pub, here is their website: http://www.leatherbottlepub.co.uk/.

Us girls in front of the stage! (The dress I'm wearing is a new one I bought from the Isle of Wight, I will tell you all about it at the end!)

This great band here are called Nylon Ostrich, and the singer at of the band is related to Matt, the singer of The Lola Jones.

Another band that played, Dare To Be Charlie, were also great. They played country/rock music.

The Lola Jones in action! My dad is the drummer.

It was very busy in the amazing pub garden.

Here is the link to their youtube video of them playing their own song, Sweet Tea: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7MtI7ObdVqI&feature=em-upload_owner

Not only was the garden a normal garden, it even had a cute sandpit at the back for the littlies to play in while the adults listened to the awesome music! :P

The big queue for the delicious BBQ.

Not only did I go to a great gig, a few days after I went for a few days to Blackpool! Only a little holiday, but it was defo worth it. We went to the Pleasure Beach, an awesome theme park about 5 minutes away from where we were staying, and above is one of the fastest, tallest and steepest roller coasters in Europe! And I went on it :0

Who knew Spidercow would be staying Blackpool?!

The famous Blackpool tower!

Liking the artwork, do you think my brother fits in the picture?

We  went up the tower and before going all the way to the top, we stopped on floor 3 in the beautiful ballroom, where some pros were dancing to the man playing on the organ!

At the top of the tower you can defiantly see everything, including the comedy sketches down on the promenade.

Afterwards we stopped for a spot of lunch, and I ended up with a (very tasty!) mahoosive hot dog!! :P

Next day, the Pleasure Beach.

They had a cute little Wallace and Gromit roller coaster!

InFusion, the amazeboz roller coaster that goes upside down 3 times!

Even David Hassellhoff has been!

We then stopped by the Madame Tussauds Blackpool, and we happened to spot Lady Gaga!

Torvill and Dean skating to the Bolero.

I even had a drink in the Rovers Return Inn from Coronation Street!!

I think you guys know who these people are!

The last day we went to the Sealife. I just wanted to put a pic of the giant Japanese spider crab, Big Daddy. Wow!

The nearly final thing I have to talk about is the Crystal Palace Garden Party, Proms in the Park. I went with my trusty family and my good old friend, you know her, AKFB, fab writer of Another Kinda Fashion Blog. It was a lovely event held in Crystal Palace park, with events such as Pop choir, Rock choir, Shades of Shakespeare and the main event, Kent Sinfonia. This event has been held since 1971 and has been quite successful and the night ended in a bang, quit literally!

The famous tower in the background behind the stage.

They even had an awesome slushy stand, with all sorts of flavours from apple to pina colada! You could fill your cup with as many flavours as you wanted. And I managed to bag myself one!

Blue raspberry, apple and pina colada, yum...

AKFB with her trusty sandwich.

Yummy lemon cupcakes!

Converse twins, can you guess which one is me?

I loved AKFB's outfit, especially the top! :P
Top: H&M, shoe: Converse, leggings: New Look and coat: Topshop (borrowed of me!)

The crowd turned out to be very big.

I wasn't kidding when I said the night went of in a bang!

Last but not least, a few days ago AKFB and I had an epic sleepover lasting four days, and of course there had to be a shopping trip involved! My favourite thing I got was my skater skirt, from New Look: £14.99   NOW £7.00. I think I got myself a bargain there!

I said earlier on that this dress would be featuring on later in the post, and here it is! I got it from the great shop, Cameo of Cowes, in West Cowes, Isle of Wight, which I mentioned in an Isle of Wight post when I bought the tartan skirt. Just to refresh your memories, it is a shop that sells lost property. Well I went back there a few days later and found this dress that I recently spotted in New Look and I really wanted it but I didn't have enough money. And guess what, I found it for £7.50 when it was originally £15.00! Defiantly going back there again :)
